Veggie Dog Eating Contest Competitor Sheet
Though it is a competition, this is essentially an amateur and lighthearted event. We will do to our best ensure a safe, fair and fun time, but competitors should also be conscious of keeping an easy-going atmosphere.
Rules & Guidelines
Veggie Hot Dogs - One full veggie dog is counted as fully eating one wiener and one bun. Partially eaten veggie dogs count and the unit of measurement is eighths of a veggie dog. The competitor who eats the most veggie dogs wins.
All hot dogs and buns will be 100% Vegan.
Time Limit - 12 minutes
All veggie dogs or partial veggie dogs in the mouth at the end of 12 minutes may be counted, but only if they are chewed and swallowed completely.
Categories
We have two fields in which to compete: a single and a doubles category. You can only compete in one; unless you are a veggie dog eating cyborg, in which case we'll probably disqualify you.
Solo: Eating solo. One stomach vs one plate of veggie dogs.
Doubles: A team of two competes against other teams.
Eating Methods
Chew, then swallow. We welcome innovations in the art of competitive veggie hot dog eating but discourage techniques that could endanger the safety of the participants, see below.
Safety - Very Important!
Eating a lot very quickly presents certain risks. Each competitor is responsible for making sure they have a healthy, safe, and fun time. Please discuss any possible issues or concerns with the organizers beforehand to ensure your safety. A safe event is a priority for the organizers.
During competition, eaters may feel pressured due to the high energy of the event to push themselves harder than necessary. The organizers stress that all eaters stay within their comfort level and if at any point feel unwell to stop competing and let the organizers know. We will have trained paramedics on the scene to attend to medical issues.
Costume and Stage Name
We encourage competitors to be as attention-getting as they want. Break out your Sunday best, and look good while stretching the limits of your digestive system.
A Stage Name can help you stand out as well as intimidate your eating opponents. The former world record holder for (meat) hot dogs is known as Takeru "Tsunami" Kobayashi. Send us your nom de guerre so we can announce it through the streets of our fair city.
Prizes
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in both singles and doubles categories to the eaters who consume the most number of veggie dogs.
